Ash and Apotheosis
Jeremiah 20:9 – “His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.”
I am a demi-god—
chosen through divine right.
Not akin to Hercules.
I speak the blasphemy:
I mean Jesus in my own right.
I do not claim to be the Lord.
That aspiration’s far too high.
But demi-god is what I am—
and let me tell you why.
Immaculately conceived—
not physically,
but spiritually:
What else but divinity
could birth a mind like mine?
This soul inhabits human flesh,
but its encasement doesn’t define me.
Tell me—
how could a mere human possess
the strength to always rise
when brimstone rains
and Heaven’s wrath ignites the skies?
It doesn’t shake me.
It doesn’t crack my land.
So if heaven hurls its storms again,
and prophets claim I’m damned—
just know:
I built this soul from ash
and still—
I always stand.
